Patrick Moore

Director United States Cannabis Coalition

Having decided in my early 20s with the help of Jack Herer that just ending the outright treacherous war on Cannabis wasn’t enough if that ‘”Legalization” morphed into a hyper regulated, over controlled and mega taxed corporate monopoly that distanced Americans from the true potential and promise of this unique plant and so I have not stopped in over 30 years to help define the difference between good and bad 420 laws and regulations and promote the best of the best as our ultimate outcome.

Biography

I began my efforts to “Free the Weed” in the early 1990s working in California on Jack Herer’s epic ballot initiative campaign and helping the coalition in 1996 pass the worlds first Medical Marijuana bill. We continued forward with full legalization as our goal and reviewed and revised Jack’s bill every 2 years for 30 years. With that one page model as my template I advised both Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s and Dr. Ron Paul’s Presidential campaigns and was titled Director for Roger Stone’s United States Cannabis Coalition in an attempt to bring a reasonable, common sense approach to future Cannabis policy especially being so close to the end game.

Summary

Brief overview of Cannabis laws\history with special attention to the now known as Cannabis Hemp Heritage Act and the 1996 California Compassionate Use Act with overview of my involvement in both.

From there we’ll delve into the Drug Policy Alliance and it’s roll in aiding NORML, MPP and other “policy makers” into adopting a certain attitude and philosophy concerning everything from policy directions to global marketing and government/NGO interfaces.

I’ll cover details from California’s efforts to legalize and the culmination of those efforts in passing one of the most convoluted, dishonest and deceptive ballot initiatives in California’s history laying the groundwork from years of public failure for the new massive burecorcy and lost opportunities for the well established (world famous) medical and recreational industries that were already there.

A quick look at Oklahoma’s historic MMJ laws and outcomes.

Then I’ll supply a summery of the legal options that are most viable including the (D) MORE ACT and the (R) Common Sense Cannabis Reform Act 2021 as well as the potential Rescheduling or Presidential Order.
