Paul Stanford is a cannabis entrepreneur, businessman and political activist with an international reputation. He has given presentations and speeches is Europe, Asia, and North and South America. The largest business Stanford created to date has been THCF Medical Clinics. Since 1999, THCF Medical Clinics has helped over 270,000 Americans become legal, licensed medical marijuana patients in the United States and has opened and operated medical clinics in Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, Nevada, Hawaii, Montana, Arizona and Michigan, and Stanford’s clinics have been the first cannabis business working in each of these states. Working with over 70 doctors in 60 cities and up to 100 employees, no one in the world has helped more medical marijuana patients become legal to possess, use and grow cannabis. Stanford’s clinics have been taken public on the Toronto and Frankfurt stock exchanges. Stanford is an organic cannabis grower and has won many awards for the quality of his medical marijuana. These awards garnered national press recognition in 2008, when Stanford swept all the prizes at the Oregon Medical Marijuana Awards. Stanford has given away over 7,000 pounds of free medical marijuana to sick and dying patients since 1999. He has been an expert judge of cannabis quality at “cannabis cup” competitions in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Chile. Biography

In 1988 Stanford founded Tree Free EcoPaper and imported and sold hemp paper and fabric from China throughout North America and Europe, between 1988-97. His paper company received international recognition and worked on projects with many environmental organizations, including the Sierra Club, Greenpeace, the Rainforest Action Network and others.

Stanford has also written numerous articles on cannabis, including in a dozen issues of High Times magazine, and for a compilation book that Ed Rosenthal edited in 1996 called Hemp Today. He began publishing an electronic magazine on the Internet in 1991 called Hemp News. Hemp News has been periodically printed on newsprint. Stanford’s www.crrh.org website has won numerous awards in the 1990s and 2000s, including Netscape’s What’s Cool, Dev X’s Project Cool, and the Website of the Week by the British Medical Journal.
Stanford began producing and hosting a weekly cable TV show in Portland called Cannabis Common Sense, which continues today on cable TV and the Internet. Stanford has produced and hosted 1,100 episodes of this TV show since 1996.

Stanford has been working to legalize cannabis in America since he was a teenager, in 1978, when he attended his first cannabis event in Washington, DC. Stanford was the director and spokesperson for the 2012 campaign to legalize marijuana in Oregon, Ballot Measure 80. Stanford worked on and was instrumental in Oregon’s 1986 marijuana initiative vote, the second time in United States history that a state voted to legalize marijuana.
Stanford is an international cannabis conference speaker at Expogrow in Spain, Expoweed in Mexico, Peru and Chile, ExpoMedeWeed in Colombia, ExpoCannabis in Uruguay, the Hemp Environmental Forum in Japan and Thailand, CannafestMX in Mexico and ExpoHaze in Argentina. He also speaks at many domestic US events such as Seattle Hempfest, the Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Fest in Madison, Wisconsin, the NYC Cannabis Parade, the NoCo Hemp Expo, the Texas Hemp Convention and many others. Stanford has been invited back to speak and make PowerPoint presentations for multiple years to most of these events. In 2022, Stanford gave a presentation and testimony before Mexico’s national legislature in Mexico City. Stanford also lectured at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. He lectured for a class for attorney’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit on the international treaties governing cannabis and pathways to cannabis legalization for America’s premier national lawyers’ organization, the American Bar Association.
